Founded by Marion in 1955, Herts Showtime Dancers is a ‘not for profit’ organisation providing weekly dance and performing arts classes in Hoddesdon & Hertford to pupils of all ages and abilities. We believe passionately in welcoming and including all who would like to dance.
Classes for children include tap, ballet, modern, acrobatics and singing. Classes for teenagers and adults also include tap, street jazz and drama.
We stage a range of productions every year including pantomime, variety shows and cabaret evenings.
Opportunities are provided to gain medals or grades accredited by the British & Continental Society of Dance (BCSD).
In 2015 we celebrated our 60th Anniversary. Pupils past and present have joined efforts to plan, produce and perform in our Diamond Jubilee performance of Cinderella. In true Herts Showtime Dancers style the team worked together to re-write the story and stage a present-day production showcasing the ideas, creativity and talents of all who took part.
Following 60 dedicated years Marion retired as principal in September 2015 and has handed over directing of HSD to her daughter Marina.
Work is underway preparing for our March 2016 production Let's Dance.
New members and pupils are always welcome. Please get in touch if you'd like to get involved.
